The lives of Julio and Tenoch, two 17-year-old teenagers, are governed by their hormones, their friendship, and the hurried speed with which they seek to transition to adulthood.

During a family gathering one afternoon, they meet Luisa, a 28-year-old Spanish woman, and quickly begin flirting with her. Jokingly, they invite her to join them in their car to a secluded beach called Boca del Cielo , without telling her where it is or even if it truly exists. Luisa politely ignores them, they go their separate ways, and the incident is soon forgotten.

However, she receives devastating news. Faced with the need for a change in her life, she reunites with the boys and accepts their offer.
